Stichting Naturistisch Zwemmen Gennep
A group of frequent visitors of the sauna in Gennep founded the
foundation in 1990. The idea came to hire the swimming poole Pica Mare
and organized there a couple of hours nude swimming. After this the
board of the foundation were looking for a number of volunteers. These
volunteers form, together with the board, a sociable team. The
volunteers are doing duty during the nude swimming hours the cash desk,
the pool bar and supervise the swimming pool.
Very soon it appears that the sauna in Pica Mare was to small and the board got permission to build a second Finnish sauna outside. A large group of volunteers build outside a square with the outdoor sauna, a cold shower and a plunge.
The nude swimming hours are public, they are frequently visited by young and old ( 0 to +/- 80 years). The open character makes it approachable for everybody who wants to experience nude swimming. The cozy atmosphere, everyone is quickly absorbed into the group. The sub-tropical swimming pool Pica Mare in Gennep was chosen by the Stichting Naturistisch Zwemmen because it is an excellent place with good facilities.
